The Earth-Rite® PLUS ensures that equipment that could be charged through contact with charged liquids or powders has a low-resistance connection to a verified grounding point. It achieves this by continuously monitoring the resistance from the equipment to the verified ground, ensuring the ground path resistance is ten ohms or less.
A cluster of attention-grabbing LED indicators provides operators with a GO / NO GO visual reference to verify the equipment is safely grounded. In addition to a visual reference point, a pair of dry changeover contacts can be interlocked with the process to automatically halt the transfer of product should the Earth-Rite PLUS detect that the equipment is not grounded, thereby eliminating a potentially hazardous situation.
The Earth-Rite PLUS is supplied in three configurations. The primary configuration is with the electronics supplied in an XP explosion-proof metal enclosure for installation in division 1 locations (covering all material classes and groups as per NEC 500). The second configuration is with the electronics supplied in a static dissipative GRP enclosure for mounting in division 2 locations. The third configuration enables sites to install the indicator/monitoring unit in a division 1 location with the power supply/relays installed in a division 2 location or non-hazardous location. The electronics are supplied in separate static dissipative GRP enclosures.
The Earth-Rite PLUS carries cCSAus, ATEX, IECEx and SIL 2 certification. All units can be powered from a 110V / 230V AC supply or 12V / 24V DC supply.
