3M Scott Fire & Safety Respiratory Protection Solutions for Chemical Industry Personnel
3M Scott Fire & Safety specialises in the manufacture and provision of respiratory and personal protective equipment and safety devices for use in number of applications worldwide, from industrial and chemical worksites to emergency response teams and security forces.
Our comprehensive range of innovative safety solutions includes self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), air-purifying respirator (APR) and supplied-air respirator (SAR) units, and personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as various cutting-edge products for emergency firefighting activities.
We are also able to supply portable gas detection instruments, breathing air systems and thermal imaging cameras. All our products are accompanied by excellent customer support services and competitive warranty arrangements.
Self-contained breathing apparatus for chemical applications
3M Scott Fire & Safety provides SCBA equipment specifically designed to comply with stringent National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Australia and EN specifications for the oil and gas market.
Our range apparatus includes the NFPA 1981: 2013 Ed-approved Air-Pak X3 SCBA, as well as the EN137:2006 Type 2-certified ProPak-f and ProPak-i SCBA models.
We also offer Air-Pak 75i units, which are approved by the Australian National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and remain a popular choice of SCBA system in the industry for the robust and reliable protection they deliver on a day-to-day basis.
A versatile array of NIOSH and EN 137 Type 1 SCBA systems are also available to suit customers’ worksite requirements.
EN-approved supplied air respirator (SAR) units
3M Scott Fire & Safety delivers products that are both EN and NIOSH approved in order to protect workers from the respiratory risks posed by prolonged exposure to chemical compounds.
Our advanced, hands-free Ska-Pak respirators and Flite positive pressure breathing systems are leading solutions in the chemical and petrochemical industries, thanks to their extensively field-tested user-friendliness and durability.
Emergency life support respirators for industrial environments
Our air-purified and supplied air escape respirator sets, such as the constant flow emergency life support apparatus (ELSA) range, are among the most widely used pieces of personnel protection equipment for heavy industry applications.
We also produce hooded, NIOSH and EN approved variants equipped with compressed air cylinders in ten or 15 minute durational configurations to aid work staff during rapid escape procedures from hazardous industrial environments.
Other specialist products are available such as our ELSA Sprint and ELSA Muster positive pressure systems, which facilitate delivery of ancillary air in the most critical and physically demanding emergencies.
Air-purifying respirators (APR) for process plant workforces
The varied selection of powered-air-purifying respirators (PAPR) and half and full facemasks we offer can be used with air canisters or cartridges to provide extended protection against a wide range of chemical hazards.
The company supplies cartridges specifically designed for particular hazards such as silica, and a number of commonly encountered acid gases, including hydrogen sulfide and sulphur dioxide.
We also provide cartridges that safeguard on-site staff against damage otherwise caused by respiratory dangers such as organic vapours and ammonia, among others.
Portable gas detection for chemical worksites
3M Scott Fire & Safety offers durable and easy-to-use portable gas detectors for personal monitoring purposes, in a number of single to five gas configurations.
Whether your company’s specific application requires the zero-maintenance Protégé ZM or the five-gas PS500 equipped with internal pumping mechanism, our clients are able to select systems to best suit their staff’s on-site safety needs.
Our BM25 portable area monitor is available in both wired and wireless variants and is able to detect up to five gases simultaneously, including a number of combustible and harmful toxic gases, as well as oxygen.
The units are fully connectable, and up to 30 devices can be linked together at one time to allow for precise gas monitoring of large workspaces in either mobile or temporary locations.
3M Scott Fire & Safety’s product catalogue also includes a range of NFPA and non-NFPA approved thermal imaging camera devices, which provide unique and innovative visibility benefits for firefighters and emergency response teams when locating personnel during high-risk escape procedures.
