HERMETIC-Pumpen has set another new standard in pump technology with their newly developed single-stage standardised chemical canned motor pump in the HCN/HCNF range. Plant operators benefit from the highest level of innovative and low-maintenance technology.
HERMETIC-Pumpen, based in Gundelfingen near Freiburg, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of canned motor pumps without shaft seal for refinery, petrochemical, chemical, energy and refrigeration industry. The company’s many years of experience with customised individual solutions has led to a sophisticated and comprehensive range of standard pumps which are employed in the most diverse industrial sectors all over the world.
The newly developed HCN/HCNF range was designed for the most demanding areas of application. The HCN range is designed for aggressive, inflammable, toxic, and highly volatile liquids, solvents or other substances. The HCNF range is used for liquid gases, for example ammonia, Freon, propane, carbon dioxide, etc.
The most recent development is a single-stage standardised chemical canned motor pump in accordance with EN 22858 / ISO 2858. The area of application for liquids covers a temperature range from –120°C to +120°C. Pump performance lies between 6kW and 41kW, with a maximum flow rate of 230m³/h and a maximum head of 140m.
One of the special design features is an integrated monitoring system for the rotation direction (ROMi) which is firmly moulded in the terminal box. A thermistor (KL180) secured in the winding guarantees efficient protection of the motor. In addition, HERMETIC provides a temperature monitoring unit using a T30 thermostat or PT100.
Hydrodynamic slide bearings made from a tungsten carbide/silicon carbide (W5/SiC30) combination — noted for being extremely wear-resistant and low-maintenance — are used to achieve maximum cost effectiveness and reliability. A service life of eight to ten years is therefore not uncommon.
