Samson Controls Instrumentation, Controls and Automation Systems
Samson Controls is recognised worldwide for high-quality instrumentation and controls, as well as integrated automation systems for the chemical industry. Samson’s expertise extends from H&V air-conditioning technology to applications in the largest chemical plants, operating wherever there is controlled flow of vapours, gases and liquids.
Developed in collaboration with leading chemical companies, Samson’s process automation products define the industry standard in a range of applications.
Instrumentation, control and automation products
We offer a comprehensive range of valves for chemical processes, from light and heavy-duty valves in modular design made of common materials and exotic alloys according to DIN, ANSI and JIS, to high-pressure valves complying with important company standards.
Other chemical process products include:
- Forged bodies
- Live-loaded packings
- Metal bellows
- Pressure-balanced plugs
- Heating jackets
- Corrosion-resistant, low-noise and low-wear valve trims
We also provide solutions for highly specialised tasks, such as cryogenic applications, aseptic processes and tank blanketing.
Samson’s range of innovative valve accessories includes solenoid valves, boosters, lock-up valves and limit switches. Our communication-enabled positioners allow for efficient asset management and predictive maintenance.
Control valves and on/off valves
In the demanding environment of the chemical industry, products must meet requirements of cost and quality, as well as standards and regulations. Even under the most extreme conditions, Samson meets these demands.
The modular design of our control valves enables them to be adapted to suit the most adverse conditions, while reducing costs of spare parts, installation and maintenance.
Samson valves are well-suited for special applications, corrosive and erosive media, high-pressure differentials and extreme operating temperatures. Long-lasting, highly efficient sealing techniques allow installation of Samson equipment in extreme vacuum applications and prevent environmentally harmful emissions.
Samson also offers a comprehensive selection of modular control valves for HVAC applications, which are supplied with electric, electro-hydraulic or pneumatic actuators.
Control valve accessories
The Samson smart positioner enables communication and troubleshooting during operation via the Hart®, Profibus or Foundation fieldbus protocols.
Samson also offers limit switches that issue signals when a predetermined value is reached, solenoid valves that automatically override the valve to a pre-determined position and lockup valves that hold the valve in its last position in case of an energy failure.
Self-operated regulators and pipeline components
Samson’s self-operated, modular regulators are easy to assemble and service. They significantly reduce costs while improving safety, as they continue to work reliably in the event of a power failure.
By combining an electrically operated control valve and a self-operated regulator in a single body, Samson provides the ultimate regulator solution. Thermostatic regulators with hydraulic actuation generate savings by allowing the use of low-volume heat exchangers to produce hot water without compromising comfort.
Measurement, control and automation systems
As the chemical industry evolves, many tasks that used to be performed on-site are now carried out on the monitor in the control room. Maximum plant safety and process visualisation are required. In today’s fast-paced environment, user-friendly equipment, compact work stations and standardised communication systems are also essential.
Using Trovis equipment, Samson meets and exceeds these demands on process engineering and plant automation. Simple compact controllers and modular systems using standardised communication systems can solve any automation problem in process engineering.
User-friendly Trovis systems are used in a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, waste management and other automation and control systems. Trovis equipment also meets the cost and energy-saving requirements of the HVAC industry.
Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, Samson AG is an international group of companies that includes 50 subsidiaries and more than 220 representatives and sales offices worldwide.
In 2008, the UK Samson subsidiary celebrated its 50th year of trading from its headquarters in Redhill, Surrey. This purpose-built facility maintains a high level of stock in complete and component form, where valves are built to order, tested and despatched for delivery both nationally and internationally.
All products are manufactured to recognised standards with quality approvals to ISO 9001. Our new facility in Leeds also maintains a substantial stock of valves to provide more local support for the northern areas of the UK.
Our in-house facilities enable us to respond quickly to customer requests and, where possible, despatch valves the same day. This includes valves in cast iron / steel, stainless steel and PTFE-lined.
A full range of spares is stocked along with the capability to receive and repair most units. Our well-trained, experienced internal staff provide the first line of support and service. Nationwide representation also ensures on-site technical expertise and assistance in selecting the correct product for your application wherever required in the UK.
