With the new TMT85 and TMT84 temperature head transmitters for FOUNDATIONTM fieldbus and PROFIBUS PA, Endress and Hauser can boast two more innovative products for use in the fieldbus.
The loop-powered temperature transmitters have two sensor inputs for resistance thermometers, thermocouples, voltage transmitters and resistance transmitters. International approvals, such as ATEX Ex ia, Ex nL, FM IS and CSA IS, allow safe operation in hazardous areas. Measuring point design and layout in hazardous areas is facilitated by FISCO/FNICO conformity.
The TMT84 and TMT85 transmitters are suitable for use in a diverse range of industries, such as the chemical industry, oil and gas and the pharmaceutical industry. In particularly critical and demanding applications in the process industry, the temperature transmitters excel in terms of their reliability, long-term stability and manifold diagnostic functions.
The detection of cable-open circuits, short circuits and wiring errors is as much a matter of course as corrosion detection on the sensor cables. The aspect of safety in the process is also supported by the TMT84 and TMT85 transmitters by means of a backup function and drift detection during two-sensor operation.
The accuracy of the overall thermometer can be significantly improved with sensor-transmitter matching using the Callander Van Dusen coefficients from the thermometer calibration.
During installation, users benefit from rapid and safe wiring with spring terminal technology or large screw terminals. If required, the TID10 display can also be fitted directly to the head transmitter. The display provides information on the current measured value and the TAG name.
