PETRONAS TOWERS - MALAYSIA

The Petronas Twin Towers building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was the world's tallest building at the time of completion in 1997, standing 452m (1483 feet) high.

Each Petronas tower contains 88 stories of commercial office space topped by a spire. The twin towers themselves are connected at the 41st and 42nd floors (175 metres above ground level) by a 58 metre double-decker sky bridge.

The twin towers, developed as an integral part of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) project, are of glass and steel construction and use geometric principles characteristic of Islamic architecture to symbolise grace and strength.

PETRONAS, short for Petroliam Nasional Bhd, is Malaysia's national petroleum corporation.
