Taminco to increase US methylamines capacity

2 December 2011

Taminco, a producer of alkylamines and their derivatives, is planning to increase its methylamines capacity in the US by the end of 2014.

The company has two facilities in the US. It plant in Pace, Florida, is used to produce methylamines, alkylamines and tertiary amines, and its plant in Los Angeles, California, is used to manufacture alkyl alkanolamines, alkylamines, diethylhydroxylamine and dimethylaminopropylamine.

Taminco amines and solvents business unit global business director Bob Davis said that the expansion project will help the company to serve the growing methylamines market in the Americas and to support the development of its customers.

"With this strategic investment, Taminco will reinforce its leadership position in alkylamines in the Americas, and will provide a long-term growth platform for its existing and future derivatives portfolio serving markets such as food and nutrition, personal and home care, energy and water treatment," Davis said.
