South Korea's SK Engineering and Construction has partnered with US-based Shaw Group and Egyptian firm Carbon Holdings to build a $3.5bn petrochemical plant in Egypt.
The plant, capable of producing 1.35 million tons of ethylene per year, will be built in the Ain Sokhna industrial complex, 120km east of Cairo.
Construction of the plant is scheduled for completion in 2016.
