8 December 2011

Sumitomo Chemical Company (SCC) has entered into an agreement to purchase South Korea-based LG Life Sciences' (LGLS) ethaboxam fungicide business.

Ethaboxam fungicide is used to treat grapes, vegetables, potatoes, corn and other row crops with downy mildew, late blight and pythium diseases.

Developed by LGLS, Ethaboxam fungicide can be used in soil, foliar or seed treatment applications.

SCC group has gained a licence from LGLS, under which it will develop ethaboxam mainly for seed treatment in certain countries including the US.
