Saudi-based Idea Soda Ash and Calcium Chloride has announced that it will build a SAR1.1bn ($293m) soda ash and calcium chloride production facility in Jubail.
Jacobs Engineering has been contracted to provide engineering and project management services for the construction of the facility.
The plant is anticipated to have a total annual capacity of up to 800,000t.
Isacc managing director and CEO Abdulaziz Yahya Al-Muaiyyad said the construction of the facility is expected to start in 2012.
The production run of the plant will start by the end of 2014, and commercial operations are expected to start in the first quarter of 2015.
