Rockwood Holdings' Chemetall Lithium India business unit has opened a new butyllithium production facility in Gujarat, India.
The facility will also be used to store and sell other specialty chemicals manufactured by Chemetall.
Butyllithium is used as a promoter for anionic polymerisation and as a base in organic, pharmaceutical or agrochemical syntheses.
Chemetall manufactures lithium-based compounds as well as metal-based fine chemicals for use in specialty applications.
