PPG Industries, a maker of coatings and speciality products, has declared force majeure on certain optical products due to flooding in Thailand.
The move follows production suspensions at PPG's Solarlens facilities in Bang Pa-In and Lat Krabang.
However, the company's Transitions Optical facility in Chon Buri will remain in operation.
PPG Optical and Specialty Materials senior vice-president Richard Elias said the flooding has severely affected PPG's facilities and optical supply chain.
"We continue to monitor the situation, but unfortunately are unable to provide a timeframe of when we will be able to return to normal operations," Elias added.
