Poland's Zaklady Azotowe Pulaway and Zaklady Azotowe w Tarnowie-Moscicach have signed an agreement to build a caprolactam plant in south-east Asia.
Patents from the two companies enable them to design and build a complete caprolactam unit using alternative feedstock, benzene or phenol.
Zaklady Azotowe w Tarnowie-Moscicach nanagement board president Jerzy Marciniak said the new plant would help it to maintain the cost of caprolactam production at competitive levels.
"We are interested in increasing the role of Polish caprolactam technologies in the world, as well as enhancing our capabilities and entrenching our current market position," Marciniak added.
The companies said world demand for caprolactam increases by 3% yearly, and in China is as much as 8%.
