Oman Oil plans sulphur bentonite fertiliser expansion

2 November 2011

Takamul Investment, the downstream investment arm of Oman Oil, is planning to double the capacity of its sulphur bentonite fertiliser project in Sohar by 2012.

Sulphur bentonite fertiliser is used to strengthen sulphur-deficient soils.

The Sohar site, currently under construction, will house four production lines with a fertiliser capacity of 120,000t/year.

The project is expected to meet growing demands for sulphur bentonite in Asia, Turkey and US.
