LyondellBasell to provide technologies for Liaoning Bora’s petrochemical plants


Netherlands-based chemicals company LyondellBasell has been chosen to provide its polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) technologies for Liaoning Bora Petrochemical’s three new plants in China.

Liaoning Bora is planning for two polypropylene plants that will adopt Spherizone and Spheripol PP process technologies and have a total combined capacity of 600,000t.

Set to operate on Hostalen ACP process technology, the third complementary plant is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit with a 350,000t capacity per annum.

Liaoning Bora intends to construct the new facilities in its new petrochemical complex located at Panjin in Liaoning Province of the country.

LyondellBasell develops material and product solutions for application in food safety, water purity protection and improved safety of cars and trucks. 

The firm’s polyolefin processes and associated technical services portfolio also includes high-pressure technology Lupotech, add-on product Metocene PP, and Spherilene gas-phase process solution.
