Arkema is set to divest its vinyl division to investment company Klesch Group, creating a major player in the European PVC industry.
The company will sell all of it French assets directly related to the chlorine and derivatives activities, as well as all downstream activities worldwide.
Klesch Group founder and chairman Gary Klesch said that the acquisition provides his company with a new growth platform in speciality chemicals.
Arkema will focus its resources and investments on developing its industrial chemicals and performance products businesses.
The project remains subject to the legal information and consultation process, and the approval of antitrust authorities.
