JHICC selects Air Products for new memory fab in South China
Air Products has been selected to supply industrial gasses for the Chinese firm Fujian Jinhua Integrated Circuit's (JHICC) new memory fab.
The fab is located in Fujian (Jinjiang) Integrated Circuit Industrial Park, Quanzhou City of Fujian Province, in China, which is expected to serve as an industry base for developing integrated circuits (ICs).
Under the deal, Air Products will be engaged in building a nitrogen plant that will supply a wide-range of purity gasses nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, helium and argon, to meet the needs of JHICC’s fab.
Air Products China industrial gasses president Saw Choon Seong said: “We are greatly honoured to be selected to support this important project in the development of China’s IC industry.
“We will continue to serve China’s electronics manufacturing industry, which is gaining new momentum of development under the country’s 13th five-year plan and 'Made in China 2025’ strategy.”
In 2014, the Chinese Government is reported to have invested billions of dollars in strengthening domestic electronics manufacturing industry, which the IC industry in the country is developing at a faster pace as a result.
Air Products southern China industrial gasses vice-president Jeff Fan said: “We have been operating in southern China for 30 years and established a strong presence to serve the electronics and other industries with our safe, reliable and high-quality gases, thanks to the support and trust of the local governments and our customers.
“This significant supply contract will further strengthen our market position in this strategic region.”
Air Product, has already established a reliable supply network across the Pearl River Delta, which is reported to be one of the major electronics manufacturing clusters in China to meet the growing demand of industrial gasses in the region.
