Sojitz, Sumitomo, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Toyo Engineering have won a 100bn yen ($1.3bn) contract to build a fertiliser plant in Angola, Africa.

The contract allows the companies to build the plant and supply shipping equipment.

The facility is expected to produce 660,000t of ammonia and 580,000t of urea per year.

Half of the ammonia produced by the plant will be exported to other African and European nations, while the urea will be used in Angola.
