INEOS Styrolution to increase production at Altamira plant

Germany-based styrenics supplier INEOS Styrolution intends to expand its plant located in Altamira, Mexico in order to meet the growing demand in the Americas region.

The copolymer plant produces a wide range of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) solutions.

The capacity expansion would lead to an increase 20,000 metric tons, as well as take the overall copolymer production capacity at Altamira to 180,000 metric tonnes.

INEOS Styrolution Americas president Alexander Glueck said: “This investment is in line with our Triple Shift growth strategy.

“Our investment is at the intersection of all three aspects of our strategy:

"Focus on growing markets, growing industries and on innovative products for our customers to stay competitive in their respective markets.”

"Capactiy increase at the Altamira copolymer plant is expected to reduce imports from other regions that were needed to support growth in the Americas region."
