INEOS Oxide, a provider of solvents and speciality chemicals, is considering an expansion of its ethylidene norbornene capacity.
Ethylidene norbornene is a diene monomer used to produce ethylene-propylene-diene rubber,which is mostly used in the automotive, construction and white goods industries.
It is also used as a scent carrier in fragrance and flavours industry.
INEOS Oxide CEO Hans Casier said the company is planning to build new ethylidene norbornene plant in South East Asia to meet demand, particularly for ethylene-propylene-diene.
