Balaji Amines, a manufacturer of speciality chemicals, is set to invest Rs700m ($14m) to expand its manufacturing facilities in Solapur, Maharashtra, India.
The investment includes expansion of methyl amines, di-methyl amine hydrochloride and dimethyl formamide facilities.
Of the total investment, Rs480m ($9.7m) is funded by the State Bank of Hyderabad, while the rest comes from internal accruals.
The 100t/day capacity methyl amines unit is expected to come on-line in February 2012, while the 70t/day di-methyl amine unit and 36t/day formamide unit will be ready by 2012-13.
The firm also plans to set up a 50t/day plant for N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, a water soluble, bio-degradable solvent used in the pharma industry.
