India levies anti-dumping duty on imported rubber chemical

27 October 2011

India's finance ministry has imposed an anti-dumping duty of up to $0.23/kg on all imports of MBTS dibenzothiazole disulphide from China, for a period of five years.

The duty will also be applicable for MBTS produced in other countries and then exported from China.

The move follows a recommendation by India's commerce ministry.

MBTS is used in the manufacture of rubber products, car tyres, conveyor belts and footwear.
