India imposes anti-dumping duty on imported caustic soda

India's Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties has imposed an anti-dumping duty of $366 per dry metric ton on imports of caustic soda from South Korea.

The anti-dumping duty shall be effective up to and inclusive of 25 December 2013, Business Standard reported.

The Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties said that the domestic industry had suffered a material injury on account of dumping of the product by South Korea.

Caustic Soda is a soapy chemical used to manufacture pulp, paper, textiles, soaps, detergents and drugs.
