Incitec Pivot will conduct a feasibility study to construct an ammonium nitrate plant at its fertiliser facility in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
The plant will produce ammonium nitrate for the state's mining industry, particularly the Hunter Valley.
It will also produce urea ammonium nitrate for agricultural use.
The study is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012.
