Honeywell partners with JR Simplot for new ASN fertiliser production facility

Honeywell has partnered with JR Simplot to establish a new facility that will produce Honeywell's new, dry granular ammonium sulphate nitrate (ASN) fertiliser - Sulf-N 26.

Sulf-N 26 utilises a patented Honeywell process that chemically fuses ammonium sulphate and ammonium nitrate to produce a 26-0-0 14S highly stable fertiliser.

Honeywell will engineer, construct and own a modular manufacturing facility for Sulf-N 26 at Simplot's Lathrop production plant in California, US.

As per the agreement, Simplot will operate the new facility and will also gain rights to commercialise Sulf-N 26 in Western US, Western Canada and Northern Mexico.

Simplot AgriBusiness Group president Garrett Lofto said the new fertiliser fuses ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate into a dry, granular product that is easy to handle, safe to ship and store, and is compatible with other nitrogen, phosphorus or potassium ingredients.
