Honeywell buys Evonik manufacturing technology

8 December 2011

Honeywell has entered into an agreement to acquire Evonik Industries' portfolio of manufacturing technology.

The acquisition also covers Evonik's patent and its Ziegler-Natta-based manufacturing technology, which will be used by Honeywell to develop a wider array of specialised polyethylene waxes for adhesives, coatings, inks and paints.

Honeywell's speciality additives global business director Lincoln Germain said the technology purchase expands Honeywell's ability to develop new additives that can solve a variety of challenges for their customers in the paints, plastics, coatings, adhesives and inks industries.

"Ziegler-Natta-based technology is a great complement to Honeywell's already broad set of manufacturing technologies for polyethylene additives," he added.
