WR Grace & Co (Grace) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Qingdao Bureau of Commerce to manufacture fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts and other related products for the petroleum refining industry in Qingdao, Shandong province, China.
To achieve the objectives of the MOU, Grace has commissioned a wholly foreign owned enterprise (WFOE) in Qingdao.
Grace catalysts technologies president, Shawn Abrams, said the expansion of FCC catalyst manufacturing capabilities will enable the company to serve its customers in China and Asia Pacific region.
"We look forward to successful cooperation with the government of Qingdao," Abrams said.
Qingdao Bureau of Commerce deputy director-general, Chunyu Xianli, believes that the city's location, industrial layout and human resources will support Grace to enhance its development in China and the Asia Pacific region.
Abrams continued: "Qingdao Municipal Government, Qingdao Bureau of Commerce and West Bank Economic Zone will offer the best services and supports to its establishment.The rapid and sound development of Grace in Qingdao will play an important role in promoting the petro and chemical industry in the city."
