Foster Wheeler signs Asian EFA agreement with Shell

10 May 2012

Shell Global Solutions International has entered into an enterprise framework agreement (EFA) with a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler's Global Engineering and Construction Group.

Under the agreement, Foster Wheeler will provide engineering and project management services for Shell's downstream projects in Asia.

Umberto della Sala, Foster Wheeler president and chief operating officer, said the award of the long-term agreement is testament to the company's ability to deliver services while meeting specific local needs.

"The EFA agreement is for a five-year period, with an option to extend it for another five years."

"While this agreement addresses Shell's downstream investments in Asia, we believe that delivering outstanding Foster Wheeler performance may offer opportunities to extend our scope to other onshore businesses and other locations," Sala added.

Shell's downstream business is involved in manufacturing and distributing oil and chemicals products, such as fuels, lubricants and bitumen.

The downstream business also trades crude oil, oil products and petrochemicals, primarily to optimise feedstock for the company's manufacturing business.

The EFA agreement is for a five-year period, with an option to extend it for another five years. Foster Wheeler said it will record bookings as individual work orders are received.

Foster Wheeler's Global Engineering and Construction Group designs and builds processing facilities for the upstream oil and gas, LNG and gas-to-liquids, refining, chemicals and petrochemicals, power, mining and metals, environmental, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare industries.
