Water chemistry company Kemira has signed a contract to sell its Canadian hydrogen peroxide unit in Maitland to Evonik.
Petri Helsky, Kemira Paper segment head, said proceeds of the sale will be used to develop the company's paper business further in North America as well as in other applications.
The transaction is expected to close at the end of November 2011.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
