Germany-based Evonik Industries is planning to invest more than €100m to build a new hydrogen peroxide production plant in Jilin province, northeastern China.
The plant will have an annual production capacity of 230,000t.
As per the long-term supply agreement, Evonik will supply the hydrogen peroxide produced at the plant irectly to the adjacent propylene oxide plant run by Jishen Chemical Industry.
Jishen will use the Evonik-Uhde HPPO process to produce propylene oxide from the hydrogen peroxide.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.
Hydrogen peroxide is used as a bleaching agent in the textile and pulp industry.
