Evonik to broaden polyamide 12 plant capacity in Germany and Asia
Speciality chemicals provider Evonik Industries is set to expand the capacity of its polyamide 12 plants in Germany and Asia.
Evonik is increase production at its existing plant in Marl, Germany, with a 5,000t/year expansion, which is expected to come onstream in 2012.
Evonik will also expand capacity at its Asian facility by 20,000t, which is likely to be
completed within three years.
Evonik produces the chemical by converting butadiene to the monomer laurolactam, which then polymerizes to polyamide 12.
