Dow and Solvay joint venture starts hydrogen peroxide plant in Thailand
Solvay's hydrogen peroxide joint venture with Dow Chemical, MTP HP (Thailand), has commissioned a hydrogen peroxide plant in Map Ta Phut.
The plant's production process is based on Solvay's proprietary, high-yield hydrogen peroxide technology, which enables plants to benefit from specific investment and production costs.
Hydrogen peroxide technology also provides environmental advantages such as reductions in energy consumption and in waste water.
The plant has a capacity of over 330,000t/year of hydrogen peroxide at 100% concentration.
Hydrogen peroxide is required for the manufacture of propylene oxide, which is used to produce propylene glycol, polyurethanes and glycol ethers.
