Dow and Saudi Aramco officially form Sadara
US-based Dow Chemical and Saudi Aramco have announced the official formation of Sadara Chemical Company as a joint venture.
Using Dow's product technologies and Saudi Aramco's project management and execution capabilities, the units will manufacture performance products such as polyurethanes, propylene glycol, elastomers, LDPE, linear LDPE, glycol ethers and amines.
The first production units of the complex will come online in the second half of 2015, while all other units are expected to start up in 2016.
Upon completion, the joint venture complex, which is being built in Jubail, will be one of the largest integrated chemical facilities.
Sadara expects to generate annual revenues of around $10bn once the production units are started.
