CB&I's Lummus Technology business has been awarded a contract by China Coal Shaanxi Yulin Energy & Chemical to provide licence and engineering design for two light olefins recovery units in Yulin, Shaanxi Province, China.
Each unit is expected to yield 300,000t a year of polymer grade ethylene, and 300,000t annually of polymer grade propylene.
The units leverage Olefins Conversion Technology (OCT) from Lummus to upgrade the by-product produced into an additional 165,000t a year of polymer grade propylene.
The first olefin plant is scheduled to start operating in 2013.
