BASF is investing $20m to make improvements to its existing alumina absorbent products plant in Vidalia, US.
As part of the upgrade, the company will transfer all absorbents capacity to Vidalia from its Port Allen absorbents plant, which will be closed in 2013.
The Vidalia plant is used to manufacture activated alumina adsorbents used for air drying, Claus catalysis, chloride and fluoride removal, petrochemical purification and other processes.
