BASF to increase Neopor capacity

8 November 2011

BASF is planning to expand the production capacity of its insulation material Neopor (expanded polystyrene) at its site in Ludwigshafen, Germany, by around 60,000t/year.

Neopor offers 20% improved insulating performance over white expanded polystyrene insulating material.

The Neopor contains graphite particles that reflect heat radiation, resulting in reduced heat loss.

The company expects to achieve full capacity by October 2013.
