BASF has opened a new concrete admixtures plant in Tejgaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh, to meet increased local demand.

The plant will produce concrete admixtures such as Rheobuild, Pozzolith and Glenium.

BASF Asia Pacific construction chemicals senior vice president Mark Volmer said, " With the local production in Dhaka, we will build our capabilities in serving the fast-growing infrastructure segment of Bangladesh and offer cutting-edge products and services to our customers."

BASF Bangladesh managing director Saria Sadique said the emphasis on infrastructure development in Bangladesh opens new opportunities for the company's construction chemicals business.

"The new manufacturing facility, along with our existing technical lab, will offer well-balanced innovative and sustainable solutions as well as technical expertise to support our strong customer-oriented approach," Sadique added.

In addition to construction chemicals, BASF Bangladesh's three application labs cater to textile chemicals and leather chemicals.
