26 September 2011

Badger Licensing has been awarded a contract by LG Chem to license its proprietary technology for a 200,000t/year cumene plant and a 120,000t/year bisphenol A plant in Daesan, South Korea.

LG operates one cumene plant and two bisphenol A plants at the Yeosu site, licensed by Badger.

Badger president Mark Healey said Badger's cumene technology provides high product purity, low capital cost, feedstock flexibility and long catalyst cycles.

The new plants are scheduled for mechanical completion and start-up in 2012.
