Arkema to acquire Seppic alcoxylate business

11 November 2011

Arkema is planning to acquire Seppic's speciality alcoxylate business, which generated sales of €47m in 2010.

The acquisition, which includes two sites at Feuchy and Châteauroux in France, allows Arkema to expand its surfactant range in road construction, industrial detergency, and the oil and gas business industries.

Alcoxylates are speciality polyols and alcoxylated surfactants are used in the manufacture of paints and ultra high performance concrete additives.

The transaction is subject to a consultation process and approval from antitrust authorities.
