Anichem buys Sasol Gulf assets from Sasol Olefins and Surfactants

Anichem FZC, a member of the Al Nahda International Group, has purchased the assets of G.D. Portbury (Sasol Gulf), a subsidiary of Sasol Olefins and Surfactants.

"The sale of Sasol Gulf will allow Sasol Olefins and Surfactants to strengthen the focus on its strategy."

Sasol Gulf is a subsidiary of Sasol Italy, which is part of Sasol Olefins and Surfactants and manufactures 15,000 tonnes per year of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS), which is used as a primary cleaning agent in laundry detergents and cleaners, at its facility in Dubai.

The sale of Sasol Gulf will allow Sasol Olefins and Surfactants to strengthen the focus on its strategy.

As part of the acquisition, Anichem FZC agreed to maintain the existing Sasol Gulf facility and retain the staff employed.

Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Sasol Olefins and Surfactant's parent company Sasol develops technologies and operates various facilities to produce various product streams, including liquid fuels, chemicals and electricity.
