Petrologistics Begins Propylene Production at Texas Plant
Petrologistics has started production at its propylene plant in Texas, which is expected to be running at full capacity within 30 days.
The plant will produce 544,000t of 70% chemical-grade propylene and 30% polymer-grade propylene through propane dehydrogenation a year.
The $300m unit will be the largest propane dehydrogenation plant in the world.
PetroLogistics purchased the site from ExxonMobil in 2008 and is in the final stages of converting it from an olefins plant to an on-purpose propylene facility, according to icis.com.
