Australian Government Approves Perdaman Plant

Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers has received approval from the Australian Government to start its coal gasification plant in Collie, Western Australia.

The $3.5bn plant will process between two and four million tons of coal a year, which will be turned into fertiliser and exported to Asia.

The company expects the plant to annually generate $850m in export revenue.

The unit will be Australia's first gasification plant.
