Polycarbonate Demand to Grow

Global demand for polycarbonate is expected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6% up to 2015, according to a new study.

The demand for polycarbonate is highest in Asia and its global demand reached 2.9 million tons in 2009, GBI Research said.

The report said the Asian demand of the product by volume in 2009 was 930,000t.

Europe is the second largest consumer of the product in the world, while Germany and France consume the most polycarbonate in Europe.

In 2009, the demand for polycarbonate in Europe was 600,000t.
