Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical has reported a profit of 1.494bn Yuan ($219m) in the first half of 2010, up 51% compared to the corresponding half last year.
The Chinese petrochemical company's operating revenue during the period jumped 71% over last year to 36.13bn Yuan ($5bn), the company said.
Sinopec Shanghai's crude oil refining volume grew 20% to 5.04 million tons, ethylene volume jumped 12%, propylene volume increased 14% while synthetic resin and plastics volume jumped 5% during the time.
The firm produced 493,900 tons of ethylene, 270,300 tons of propylene, 568,600 tons of synthetic resins, 499,400 tons of synthetic fibre monomers and 329,800 tons of synthetic fibre polymers during the period.
