LyondellBasell has announced the successful start up of its new high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant at Munchsmunster, Germany.
LyondellBasell said the plant will use hostalen advanced cascade process (ACP) technology to produce 320kt of HDPE a year.
Hostalen ACP technology enables the production of resins with advanced toughness and impact resistance, higher stress-crack resistance, good organoleptics and processing advantages.
LyondellBasell also has HDPE production plants in Frankfurt and Wesseling in Germany, and a joint venture in Plock, Poland, all of which use hostalen ACP technology.
The company has not disclosed the amount it has invested in the facility.
