South Korean Firm to Build Aromatic Plant in Singapore

SK Engineering and Construction has secured a $950m contract from Jurong Aromatics to build an aromatic plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.

It will be capable of producing four million tonnes of chemical products a year, the company said.

The plant will be built in a petrochemical complex on Jurong Island and construction is expected to be completed in 2013, according to Reuters.

South Korea-based SK Engineering and Construction's sister company SK Energy will maintain the plant and provide raw materials for its production.
