Godrej Industries will set up a INR2.3bn ($49m) oleochemicals manufacturing facility in the state of Maharashtra, India, according to a company official.
The company said the new facility is expected to be operational by 2013, according to the Economic Times.
Details on production capacity of the plant have not been disclosed.
Godrej Industries, which posted a 23% rise in its net profits to INR134m ($2.8m) in the quarter ending 30 June, currently has three oleochemical plants across the country.
Oleochemicals are derived from plant and animal fats, and are mainly used for making detergents and other personal care products.
