Solutia is planning to build a $40m polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayers plant at Gebeng Industrial Park in Kuantan, Malaysia.
The new facility, covering 20.2ha, is expected to produce 15,000t of PVB for the first few years, according to bernama.com.
Solutia expects the plant to be operational by 2012.
PVB interlayers are used to produce laminated glass, window films and conductive films in solar panels.
