Borouge has signed a contract with Linde to build a new $1bn ethane cracker at Borouge's production site in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The new cracker is expected to produce 1.5 million tons of ethane per year, making the Ruwais site the world's largest ethane cracker complex.
Borouge is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Borealis.
