Ineos Fined Over Emissions Violation
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in the US has fined Ineos $10,000 for emissions violations at its Brazoria County facility.
The Swiss chemicals maker has been involved in the unauthorised release of 1,913lb of 1,3-butadiene from the Olefins No. 2 cooling tower at its Chocolate Bayou plant, according to commission documents.
Ineos has paid $8,000 out of an agreed £10,000 to the commission, but has delayed $2,000 due to an expedited settlement.
Ineos also agreed to submit documents, photographs and receipts demonstrating the site were in compliance, according to thefacts.com.
